Give Every Child the Chance to Learn and Thrive

Sponsor a child with disabilities in Yemen, Somalia, or Pakistan and ensure their future, no matter the obstacles and challenges they face. With your support, children can access the tailored education and care they need to live with dignity and independence. In countries affected by conflict and poverty, life for a child with disabilities is especially difficult. Without access to education, healthcare, or proper support, their future opportunities are severely limited.

Why Your Sponsorship Matters?
Through your sponsorship, a child will benefit from: Specialised education tailored to their needs, safe and supportive environments where they can learn, and where transportation and food are provided when needed. They also benefit from access to unique facilities such as: A special needs centre in Pakistan, a school for the deaf in Somalia, and an educational and support centre in Yemen for children with cerebral palsy.

Q. What will I receive as a sponsor?

A. Throughout your time as a sponsor, we’ll continue to send you regular updates on the progress of your sponsored child.

Q. How long is the sponsorship programme?

A. Support will continue until they complete their education. Depending on individual needs of the child.

Q. How can I send a gift to my sponsored child?

A. Call our donation line on 0115 911 7222 and tell us that you would like to send a gift to your sponsored child. You will need to provide the child's ID and their country. This information can be found on your sponsorship pack, but if you can’t find the details, a member of our team can help.

Q. Can I visit them myself?

A. Visits cannot be made directly to the student’s home or Madrassa in line with our ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Policy. For safety purposes, we will not give out any personal information, such as the child’s address or telephone number.

If you would like to visit your child, please contact us three months prior to your visit either by emailing your request to mail@muslimhands.org.uk or by calling 0115 911 7222. You will need to provide dates on when you intend to visit and our team will facilitate the visit.

Q. Can I write to my sponsored child?

A. We recommend regular communication with your sponsored child, with letter writing being the preferred way.

Please find in the link below guidance on how to write to your sponsored child.
/_ui/uploads/d65ui7/Guidance%20for%20Writing%20to%20Your%20sponsorsed%20child.pdf

Simply attach your letter to an email, e.g. in Word, and we will get it across to the child's carer.

Please email us at sponsorship@muslimhands.org.uk, including your donor ID and child ID.

When the child replies with a letter, we will send it across to you via email. We do recommend that letters be written in simple English so that they can be communicated effectively.

Q. Am I the only donor of my sponsored child?

A. Yes, you are the sole sponsor for the child.

Q. What happens to my sponsorship if the child I sponsor leaves sponsorship program?

A. We are committed to transparency and will inform you if the child you sponsor is no longer part of the program. This may happen if the child completes education, moves away, the charity concludes its work in the area, the unfortunate event of the child’s passing or other relevant reasons which may cause them to leave the sponsorship programme.
In such cases, you will typically be offered the opportunity to sponsor another child in need or redirect your support to the Disability fund. You will always be kept informed and given options that reflect your ongoing commitment to making a difference.
