Maidaan: Empowering Youth Through Football
For street-connected children, the absence of legal identity creates a barrier to essential services and protection. Through our initiative, partnered with the British Council, more than 67,000 children have received official birth certificates- thus establishing their legal existence , and opening doors to education, healthcare and social protection services previously beyond reach. Through our Maidaan project, we are providing street children across Pakistan with education, life skills, safe spaces and structured football training.
This ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’ programme empowers street-connected and marginalised children through a transformative development programme rooted in four core rights: identity, education, play and dreams.
Play is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Maidaan has constructed a comprehensive grassroots football ecosystem that provides structured opportunities for children to engage in sport, develop physical literacy , and experience the joys of play as well as the opportunity to dream!
Through these structured sporting opportunities, children develop crucial life skills including teamwork, leadership, resilience, and emotional regulation. The football pitch becomes a classroom for character development and social integration.

Established in 1993, ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is an aid agency and NGO helping those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disaster in over 20 countries worldwide.
